– Unakoti is an ancient Hindu site of worship located in Kailashahar, northeastern sate of Tripura. It is significant for its rock-cut carved figures and stone images.
– Legend has it that one crore (koti) gods and goddesses assembled here. Upon a fallout, Lord Shiva cursed and turned them into stones before moving on to his abode. Hence, the name one less than a crore – Unakoti.
– The site is located against a picturesque forested backdrop and you can walk around the campus to get closer look of the rock reliefs.
