– Transport within Jodhpur – For city and suburban commute, use the city bus service or haggle to hire an auto-rickshaw – a private ride.
– Stay in Jodhpur – Book a hostel, guesthouse, homestay or a hotel. You would find many options online. Experiencing a home stay in Bishnoi Village is recommended.
– Interact with the locals- Jodhpur locals are friendly and eager to help. Just ask.
– Places to See in Jodhpur – The Clock Tower, Mandore Gardens, Sachiya Mata Temple, The Great Indian Thar Desert, Osiyan, Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Motorcycle Temple.
– Things to do in Jodhpur – See the potters in action in Guda Bishnoi. and go for a hike in the desert.
– Food – Enjoy the local food and drinks especially gatta curry, ker sangari, mix veg, with chapatis at any dhaba (highway eatery), Mirchi Vada!and authentic opium drink.
– Shopping – Head out to Sadar Market near the Clock Tower for a choice of sarees, leheriya, bandhani or other local textiles, the clay or marble souvenirs, and ethnic silver jewellery. The only shopping tip here, as anywhere in India, is to bargain wisely.
